We are just waking up after an overnight ice storm. An ice storm is something that I never experienced until we moved to Ohio. It doesn't really make sense that it would precipitate ice rather then just rain or snow like normal. I don't know all the science behind it but the result is a very slick but very beautiful outside. The kids got another snow day for school. Thank goodness I don't have to work.
As you can see, the ice is about 1/4 inch thick. I couldn't walk all over the house to take the pictures because I was afraid that I would fall on my
keister. The neighbors were outside sliding down the driveway. The ice is so heavy it is weighing down our small pine tree.
