It was time. For the last 2 years or so the dentist kept telling me to take Isaac to the orthodontist. I just ignored the advice. Isaac was only 8, who gets braces when they are 8? Way too young to think about it. Then, the dentist pointed out that his jaw was growing all wrong and it was easier to shape the jaw while it was still growing rather than try to fix it after the fact. I also took a look at Isaac's mouth and realized that he had some great fangs going on and was feeling a little self conscious about them. OK, OK. To the orthodontist we go.
He got fitted with an appliance that will widen his mouth to make room for all those large Rasmussen teeth. It made him lisp at first but he is used to it now and you can't even tell he has it in. He also had braces placed on the upper teeth to pull the fangs into place. Once everything is better aligned then the braces will come off and we wait for the rest of his baby teeth to fall out. Then braces back on for finishing touches.
He is going to be a heart smasher when all is done.
