Miriya and Isaac playing with the boats at the Childrens Museum
After our harrowing ride the day before and with the ice storm continuing, we were not very anxious to leave the house on Christmas Eve. Instead, our family hung around the house and made our traditional Christmas Eve dinner as well as played games. Taylor received Rock Band 2 for his birthday so we all played in our band together, Tom on drums, Miriya sings, Taylor on guitar and I play bass. Isaac helps out with all the instruments... We also read scriptures and performed the Christmas nativity. Baby Nick was the star of the show as baby Jesus. He slept through the entire performance.
Finally, Christmas Day! When Isaac is awakened before it is time, he spends the next 3 hours crying nonstop. Miriya and Taylor were not eager to open gifts to the tune of Isaac's wails so they let him sleep until he woke up on his own around 6:45. After that, it was every man for himself as paper and ribbons flew. Isaac loved unwrapping his presents until he found the easle and some chalk that Santa had left. He forgot about his other presents as he drew and erased pictures for the rest of the morning. Taylor was thrilled about his solar filter for his telescope and Miriya was most excited about her new trekking poles. Tom received a new SLR digital camera and I got some new pans. All in all, it was a nice holiday and we are very thankful for each other and for the birth of the saviour that made it possible for us to be together forever.

My neighbor has Rock Band and she has big calluses on her hands from playing the drums. They play it every night. I have never played, but I hear it is fun. I am jealous I want a digital SLR camera--maybe in a couple years. Sounds like you all had fun except for the ice storm of course.
Hey, we can leave comments now. That is great! Sounds like you had a Happy Christmas and Taylor had a Merry Birthday. love to you all, Sarah
