Nick's blessing

Last week we had Nick's blessing. It was very special because Grandma and Grandpa Terry as well as Aunt Johanna were there. I felt very blessed that my dad has been able to be in the circle for the blessing of all of my children, even the ones born in Ohio. Tom did a beautiful job, as he always does. Unfortunately, Nick cried through about 50% of it. I think he spit out his pacifier just after, "We give you a name and a blessing..." Here are some of the highlights for those that couldn't be there:
Full name: Nicholas Eugene Rasmussen
Health, strength and a long life if he keeps the Word of Wisdom. He will be healthy and fit.
A strong spirit with a good grasp of spiritual matters. Ease of gaining a testimony.
He will be able to overcome worldly challenges with wisdom and become closer to the Lord.
He has a very dynamic personality and many will follow him. He can encourage righteous choices for those followers. He will be powerful in the priesthood and will perform miracles and administer to others.
He has a keen mind and will attain success in whatever career he chooses. He will enjoy prestige and wealth, so much that he will need to remember the Lord and to choose to follow his path and not become carried away in worldly cares.
He will marry in the temple and be true and faithful and a good husband and will raise his family in the gospel.

All in all a pretty amazing blessing. I am so thankful for a wonderful husband and father that honors his priesthood and is able, with the aid of the Lord, to pronounce such a beautiful blessing on our son.
