We have been having an amazing amount of snowfall recently. The kids have had 2 snow days in a row and are happy as clams playing outside in all the white stuff. The storms have come right on top of each other, so between watching the boys while I am at work and then doing scouts and his own work, there has been no time for Tom to go out and shovel. Taylor has been shopping his shoveling services to Tom, but Tom, being the cheapskate that he is, was only willing to pay Taylor $5 to do our entire driveway and the sidewalks. No way, said Taylor. That is definitely NOT worth it, so the driveway remained unshoveled. Later that night, Tom was taking Miriya to swimming. (Miriya is still not allowed to drive when the roads are slick.) I got a call in the house from Tom's cell phone. Turns out he was stuck in our driveway and needed Taylor and I, as well as Miriya, to come and give him a push. When we got out there, he was buried to the axle in our Kia SUV. Between the three of us, we managed to push him out. (That's right, he drove while the rest of us pushed the car and fell on the ice and had snow spit in our faces from the spinning tires. No chivalry for Tom that night, evidently.) Anyway, Tom got home and then in an offhand way, told Taylor that he would pay him $10 to do just the driveway. Taylor was all over that offer.
